What did Bush think the Iranians would do?
by Brad Spangler

What happens when the US government pushes for war at any cost to (supposedly) stop a small country's government from acquiring nukes?

They end up encouraging the governments of various other small countries who don't have nukes to hurry up and get them while they can. Otherwise, they know, they'll never be able to stand up to Uncle Sam's attempts to bully and control them.

The trend is accelerating in proportion to the belligerence of the US government towards helpless Iraq.

First North Korea, now Iran. ABC News reports Iran is proceeding with its nuclear program. Link below.

I certainly don't sympathize with the governments of Iraq, Iran or North Korea. Far from it. I'm just analyzing the situation.

A gang of bandits exerts a de facto monopoly on enterprise-scale coercion (and in particular the extortion of monies) in a given geographical area. We call this a "government". It's basically just the Mafia with flags, though.

The world is full of many governments. If one of them attempts to establish dominion over the rest, they in turn have a powerful incentive to band together to oppose it.

Why?

Just as George Bush doesn't want to have to break down and get an honest job, neither do any of the other jerks in various world capitals. They'd rather continue living off of the productivity of their innocent countrymen -- and they'd rather not have some Texas gang muscle in on their action. Bush is a gang leader just as surely as any Crip or Blood or Latin King. All Presidents and Prime Ministers and Premiers and Kings are.

So, we've established that the behavior of the Bush administration creates what economists call "perverse incentives" among the governments of other nations. At the rate things are going, the Bush legacy will be a global anti-US coalition. The "Axis of Evil" will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What happens when China joins it? Russia? Germany? France?

You think I'm exaggerating, perhaps? No, the Bush people see this coming and are already tilling the propaganda fields. See next link:

So, they see it coming. They have apparently decided that a global war is just a risk the American people will have to take in order for the Bush clique to have an increasing pool of plunder to fuel the dominance of their particular group at the top of the US political food chain.

The Dons are bringing home the bacon for their Capos -- and you're the Patsies, America.
