“There is a growing debate over your second amendment right — your right to bear arms — and whether you should be allowed to carry a gun in a county park. According to the county’s ordinance books, the answer is no. But a local attorney says the books are wrong. … Signs posted at some Lee County parks say ‘no guns inside the park’ and there’s an ordinance to back it up. Lee County Commissioners passed the ordinance in 2006. Even if you have a permit for the gun, the ordinance says that they are prohibited in all county parks. Fort Myers attorney Patrick Buckley says not only is the ordinance against your constitutional right, but he says it’s also against state law.” (08/31/10) Link: http://www.nbc-2.com/Global/story.asp?S=13076424 Filed under: 2AM News and RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
