“Two U.S. missile strikes pummeled targets inside the main sanctuary used by al-Qaida and the Taliban along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, killing 17 people Thursday, local intelligence officials said. … The U.S. has carried out more than 40 such missile strikes this year, killing scores of suspected al-Qaida and Taliban militants, but angering many Pakistanis who point to the resulting civilian casualties. Pakistan regularly condemns the attacks as violations of its sovereignty, but it is believed to secretly aid the U.S. campaign.” (12/17/09) Link: http://tinyurl.com/yfhp2uo Filed under: RRND News and Twitter-Worthy | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
