“The Senate will not vote on a $25 billion bailout package for the auto industry after Democratic leaders determined that they did not have the votes to get the measure passed. Democrats wanted to use a portion of the $700 billion Wall Street rescue package to help the ailing car industry but were unable to attract enough Republican support to advance the legislation. Instead, the Senate will move to an extension of unemployment benefits, which could lead to an adjournment on Thursday.” (11/19/08) Link: http://tinyurl.com/5e7epa Filed under: RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
