“A 36-year-old man accused of harassing Cher at one of Lower Broadway’s famed honky-tonks decided to waive his appearance at his court hearing this morning and faces indictment for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Calvin Hutton Houghland, of Nashville, was asked to leave Tootsie’s after trying to make contact with the singer on June 25. He grabbed Cher by the waist, police said. The singer-actress declined to press charges, but Houghland asked to be arrested, according to police.” (09/04/08)
