“The state comptroller’s office has completed a review of property assessments in Wilson County and suggested new, lower tax rates there. Counties in Tennessee can choose to reappraise land for tax purposes every four, five or six years. Those that choose six-year cycles, like Wilson County, are re-evaluated in the third year. The intent of that mid-term reappraisal, which hit Wilson this summer, is to rule out the chance that homeowners will see drastic increases in home values at the end of the six years. … Those certified rates were reported to the county last week. Wilson County’s certified rate came in at $2.23, 25 cents less than the current tax rate.” (07/24/08) Link: http://tinyurl.com/5vucn5 Filed under: CANDi News and PND News and RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
