“A Tullahoma man who pleaded guilty to impersonating a doctor while working at a Huntland clinic was sentenced to nine months in prison and six years probation. Dennis Charles ‘Chuck’ Arellano, has never been a licensed medical practitioner, but was fraudulently paid more than $200,000 from 1998-2004, the TBI said in a news release. … ‘Arellano graduated from Medical School in Granada in 1996, but never passed the second board nor completed his internship and residency,’ the TBI said. He started working at the Huntland clinic as a manager for his father, who was a doctor. But when Arellano’s father aged, Arellano began seeing patients.” [editor’s note: So apparently, although the man had medical training (as valid as that of, say, at least the bottom half of the average U.S.-trained physician’s graduating-class?), but lacked the “union card” (AMA license), he goes to jail and must stop treating folks — folks who never complained about the quality of his care or advice - SAT] (09/05/07) Link: http://tinyurl.com/ytx7sd Filed under: CANDi News and PND News and RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
