“There was trouble at Debi Brewer’s gas station when prices climbed to $3 a gallon. Trouble for her, that is. She has pumps that, with their mechanical meters, could only register up to $2.99 a gallon. Gas prices soared in early September after Hurricane Katrina shutdown refineries and decreased supply, but Moose’s Country Store and Car Wash couldn’t keep up with the trend, Brewer said. ‘We never went over $3,’ she said. ‘People would say they wouldn’t go anywhere else because we were cheaper.’ Moose’s County Store uses old Tokheim Corporation gas pumps that have analog price displays and top out at $2.99 a gallon. Brewer does not know how old the pumps are because they were there when she purchased the station a year and a half ago.” (11/01/05) Link: http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/1101PumpLimit01-ON.html Filed under: CANDi News and PND News and RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
