“Now that a court has upheld Toledo’s ban on guns in parks, Columbus should pass a similar law, Mayor Michael B. Coleman said yesterday. The statement came after a news conference in which Coleman showcased 1,000 guns that had been confiscated this year on Columbus’ streets. Police picked up the sawed-off shotguns, AK-47s, Tec-9s and other guns at crime scenes and during traffic stops. Coleman wants officers to be able to arrest anyone carrying a gun in a city park and confiscate the weapon. A court ruling released last week by the 6 th District Court of Appeals in Toledo upheld that city’s law banning guns in parks.” (09/06/06) Link: http://tinyurl.com/jsdla Filed under: 2AM News and RRND News | Report Bad Link Bookmark this post in Furl or Del.icio.us | |
